Buying Beachfront Property in Panama?

Published by Michael Flora On March 14, 2019

Where can I Buy Beachfront Property in Panama?

Almost all of us have thought about buying beachfront property at least once in our lives. Maybe you are thinking about a nice place to retire or you simply want to live somewhere where you will have a beautiful view. In either case, living close to the beach has many benefits. So, in order to help you find the perfect home, we’ve come up with some interesting places where you can buy beachfront property in Panama. Furthermore, we will go over some important points that you need to consider before you purchase a beachfront house.

Where you should buy beachfront property in Panama

Since Panama has access to both the Caribbean Sea and the North Pacific Ocean, so there are numerous places that have beachfront properties. Therefore, it wasn’t easy picking the most interesting ones, but we managed to do it. Keep in mind though that these places should be just the beginning of your search. Buying a beach home in Panama is not an easy task. You will probably need to look long and hard in order to find the perfect one. But, don’t worry. We are here to help you every step of the way.

Panama City

You cannot think about moving to Panama without first considering Panama City. As it is both the largest city and the capital of Panama, there is no place that is livelier. Here you will be able to experience the big city lifestyle, and still be close to the water and beaches. There are numerous cultures that you will be able to experience and a wide variety of people that you’ll be able to meet. Not to mention the job and education opportunities that you will find nowhere else in Panama. So, if you are a young person that is considering buying beachfront property in Panama, start by looking in Panama City area where you are 15 minutes away from the beaches of Veracruz and Playa Bonita.

Nueva Gorgona

Finally, we come to the place that seems to have the best of both worlds. Nueva Gorgona is a little town located 79km west from Panama City. This means that by living there you can have the quietness of a small city and still be close enough to experience everything that Panama City has to offer. Therefore, it is no surprise that more and more people are becoming interested in Nueva Gorgona. And, if any of this sounds good to you, we suggest you act fast, many of the beachfront lots have been bought up as this remains the most affordable beachfront property. Buying beachfront property in Panama is all about knowing what you want and finding it as fast as you can.

Coronado

Now we will consider something in between. Elderly people usually look for quiet, small places while younger people look for large ones with many people. Therefore, it is no surprise that it is the middle-aged, family people that look for something in between. And that something in between is Coronado. Here you will find safe streets, good schools, hospitals, plenty of shopping and affordable living conditions. There are enough people that you will have enough social life and that your child will have other kids to play with. But, there are not so many people that you will have to experience that hassle and the stress that is associated with big cities. All in all, you can think of Coronado as a nice family place which is bound to help you raise your kids well.

Bocas del Toro

Bocas del Toro is one of the most interesting places to buy beachfront property in Panama. It is a small island city that has a population of 7,366 (2010 census). Therefore you can either access it by boat or by a plane. And once you do you will see how beautiful life in Panama can be. You will have no trouble finding a decent home on the beaches of Bocas del Toro. And, if you are looking for a quiet place to spend your retirement, you can ask for nothing better. You will just need to research the lifestyle of people on Bocas del Toro so that you can get accustomed to it properly. But, once you do, you will fall in love with Bocas del Toro, just like everyone else.

Key points to keep in mind when buying beachfront property.

In order to look for beachfront real estate properly, there are a few things that you should keep in mind. By doing so you will ensure that the home you buy is decent and that you do not get unpleasantly surprised once you start living in it.

Research your new home

Start off by researching your future home. Looking for places in Panama where you can buy beachfront property is a good start, but you mustn’t stop there. You need to go into what living in those places is really like in order to prepare for it properly. A good idea is to leave your belongings in a safe storage facility before you move, and visit the town in question first. That way you will have a much better idea of what it is really like to live there. And, you will know which items you need to pack.

Work with professionals

It is always a good idea to work with a local realtor when looking for beachfront property. If that is not possible, at least make sure that you work with someone who knows what they are doing. Beachfront property can be risky as nearby water can easily damage your home. Therefore, you need to make sure that the home you purchase is properly built so that you’ll be able to enjoy it for years to come. And, the best way to do this is with help from professionals.
