The Agua Clara Visitors Center

Published by Michael Flora On September 16, 2021

Once you leave the great Colon city and take about a 25-minute drive out to the Clear Water Locks, you’re in for a beautiful ride with breathtaking sceneries. Passing by the great Panama rentals and Panama condos, you’ll finally stumble upon a marvelous treasure that is Agua Clara Visitors Center. If you’re eager to discover all the secrets of The Panama Canal and what it means to the city and the people who live there, taking this tour will be a magical experience. No matter if you’re simply in the area and have no other way to spend your day or if this is a planned visit, it’s an experience that’ll make you wondrous and inspired.

Why should you visit the Agua Clara Visitors Center in Panama?

Taking the Panama Railway and visiting this beautiful place is a must. The Agua Clara Visitors Center will allow you to see and get to know Panama in depth. From its very core, you’ll be able to take a look at the view that shows both Gatun Lake as well as the dredging project that has been completed. If you’re unfamiliar with everything the Panama Canal has to offer to the world, that is about to change.

Apart from being a true wonder of engineering, it is one of the most practical canals in the world. It exists to accommodate over 80 countries total and their cargo transportation. The history of the place is also incomparable as its route actively serves to unite a considerable part of the world. As a result, the timelessness of the Canal, as well as its surrounding area, is quite evident just by looking at it. Of course, if you wish to learn more, the Agua Clara Center for visitors offers that as well.

The view is amazing

Nevertheless, if the Canal’s functionality and timelessness aren’t enough to get you hooked, this is also a perfect place if you enjoy nature’s wonders. Gazing at the Expanded Canal, you’ll discover a forest from above the ground (the sightseeing spot is about 50 meters above the Canal). You’ll get to see Gatun Lake as well as Agua Clara Locks. Learning about the wildlife that goes on in this tropical forest is not only educational, but it’s also a relaxing and peaceful experience. You’ll also likely get to take a peek at the great Panama real estate for sale that is in high demand. This place is truly a testament to just how well nature and technology can work together.

The projection room alone makes the tour worth the visit

Once you’ve been amazed by the viewpoint, the joy doesn’t stop there. There are plenty of other things that Agua Clara Visitors Center has in store. Its projection room is said to be one of the best experiences in the whole Center. Here, you’ll be able to learn about the history of the Canal and its efforts for the future. Remember that this isn’t the only area of the Center that’ll have fun pieces of info for you. You’ll also stumble upon fun facts throughout your tour, so be on the lookout. Another thing to be wary of is the timing of your visit. The doors to the projection room are temporarily closed due to the ongoing pandemic.

What will your visit look like?

On the days leading up to your visit to Agua Clara Center, it’s better to know what you’re in for. Especially during the pandemic, you should come prepared and informed. Here are some activities that you could expect to get into:

  1. Take a look at the Panama Canal scenery and learn about the way it operates and its significance
  2. Enjoy videos and photos, as well as information about the Canal, its history, and all that awaits it.
  3. Take a walk down the Ecological Path
  4. Enjoy the restaurant that overlooks Gatun Lake or a quick bite at the cafeteria
  5. Purchase souvenirs for your family and friends
  6. Have a great time with your children at the beautiful playground that they have

The process of entering the museum

Seeing how the visiting rules are a bit stricter, you’ll need to follow them as well as possible. Selecting the “reservations” option at the entrance to create an account and present proof of your registration is the first thing you’ll do. Following that, you’ll get all the info on the tour that’s ahead. You can expect it to last anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on various factors. The tour itself lasts for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The biosafety protocols are to be respected at all times. So, use masks and the alcohol gel dispensers that will be prepared for your arrival.

Logistics services could be of help if you fall in love with Panama

If your stay in Panama is more than just a brief visit, you may decide to prolong it. Luckily, there’s plenty of activities here, and the real estate Panama is to die for. However, moving here will take much more than just a bit of will and excitement. You’ll need a lot of help, not only to get your logistics-related tasks handled but also for advice about the best way to go through the whole process.

Settle down in Panama

Make sure to explore and research different options for living in Panama. Owning a Panama property is a dream for many. However, you shouldn’t rush into a home purchase before you’re really sure that you wish to stick around here. Explore beachside Panama real estate and rental options while you test the waters.

Hire moving services

In addition to organizing your relocation, you should also think about hiring movers that’ll help you through it. Teaming up with Four Winds KSA is a great way to cooperate with reliable and trustworthy professionals that won’t meddle in your business.

Stay safe

Due to Covid-19, Agua Clara Visitor Center has rules to keep all of the visitors safe and healthy. Make sure to respect them and follow all the pandemic-related protocols at the time of your visit. Since groups of eight or fewer people can enter at once, make sure to get your reservations on time. The hours are now shorter than before. You can visit anywhere from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Additionally, you cannot make the reservations in person, only through their site. Keep in mind that the rules and regulations could fluctuate as the situation progresses in either way, so be on a constant lookout for any changes.

Some must-see spots apart from the Agua Clara Center

Apart from visiting Agua Clara Center for visitors, Panama offers plenty of other one-of-a-kind spots that are a must.

  • The Biomuseo

Since it’s reopened its doors, The Biomuseo is a must for anyone who’s in the area.

  • Explore the real estate market

Again, if you’re thinking of relocating here, you’ll need to take a closer look at Renting Real Estate and Panama homes.

  • Enjoy the cuisine

There’s a great restaurant inside the Agua Clara Visitors Center that you should hit up once you’re there. And you can also explore different dining places in Panama. You will undoubtedly be spoiled for choice.
